The forest is split by the Divide river. On one side lie the old Cloudchasers camps — now abandoned. On the other side, past the clearing, stands the barn where the Roots now live. Beyond the barn, deeper in the woods, is the willow ravine — the most sacred place for the Roots, where they perform their twice-season rituals.
Near the Twolegplace, cats like Hollowpaw live in comfortable captivity, unaware of the forest's dangers — or perhaps too aware, and trying to return.
